About

Natural born denizen of the Internet.

I've always been here. Ever since I opened up Cheat Code Central on my old HP computer with 28k dial-up, I was hooked. I spent my time in AIM, StarCraft, Diablo, Notepad, and an FTP client I can't even remember the name of.

I started building pages on Expage when I was 9. By 12, I was making Dragon Ball Z and anime websites (some very popular). Eventually I moved from SSI includes to PHP, then started writing small PHP scripts. That set in stone my mortal bond to this machine.

At 18 I began studying computer science at Mississippi State University, eventually dropping out after my junior year to "find myself". A lot of that meant cooking at Old Venice Pizza Co., an Italian/Cajun restaurant. Later I worked for my uncle's company for a bit, and afterwards I sold my car to move to Denver. Turns out getting a software job without a degree wasn't easy.

I left Denver and moved back to Mississippi, finishing my senior year at 27. I started working as a software engineer and have since worked at startups, financial companies, Square, Coinbase, and Gemini. A lot of the work has been infrastructure: identity systems, staking systems, blockchain operations, internal tools, and products that needed to keep running.

I have been lucky enough to take time away from work to spend time with my family and to try building my own products. I haven't struck gold yet but I still have the same thought in the back of my mind: build something people want.

These days I live near Atlanta with my wife and kids. I care about internet communications, peer-to-peer networks, digital money, and product building. If you're interested in collaborating or just want to chat, feel free to reach out.
